When we talk about the "Snow" Bengal Cat, we are really referring to 3 GENETIC VARIATIONS.....
What is the difference between the Seal Lynx Point (SLP), Mink and Sepia snow bengals?
The differences between Seal Lynx Point, Mink, and Sepia snow Bengals come down to their genetics and how their coat color develops. All three are called "Snow” Bengals because they have lighter coats compared to the traditional brown Bengal, but each has distinct traits.
Seal Lynx Point: The Siamese gene. CS/CS
Seal Lynx kittens are the only Bengals that are born nearly all white. They will develop contrasting dark points and spots/rosettes as they mature Background is the lightest of the snows, but contrast can get quite dark.
Eye color is always blue.
Sepia: Burmese gene. CB/CB
Coat shows color at birth. These Snows are usually the darkest of the Snows with warm rich contrasting markings on a creamy background.
Eyes range from green to gold.
Mink: Combination of Siamese and Burmese genes. CS/CB
Coat shows contrast from birth with a creamy background and darker pattern.
Eyes are usually aqua, but can also be green.
All three are considered snow Bengals, but the SLP (Seal Lynx Point) is the lightest coloration, the Seal Mink is intermediate, and Sepia is darkest.
